My name is Laura Huber, and I’m running for AZ State Senate in LD 25 to bring your voice to the Capitol.

As a mental health counselor and advocate, I’ve spent my career listening, problem-solving, and standing up for people in our community.

I’m ready to fight for affordable housing, quality healthcare, strong public schools, and a sustainable future for Arizona.

Together, we can build a state where every voice is heard and every person has the chance to thrive.

"Your voice matters - thank you for raising it with me."

Shaping the Future of Public Policy

Shaping the Future of Public Policy

About
Laura Huber, LPC

I come from five generations of farmers and grew up on wildlife refuges — surrounded by open skies, winding rivers, and people who understood how deeply connected we are to the land and to each other. My parents taught me that when you see something that needs care, you don’t wait for someone else to fix it — you step in and do your part.

Growing up in that environment taught me how to listen, how to work hard, and how to appreciate the delicate balance between people and nature. It’s where I learned responsibility — for the land, for the community, and for those who depend on both.

That sense of duty and compassion guided me into a career in mental health. Over the years, I’ve worked on the front lines — as a counselor in a jail, overseeing crisis mobile teams, working in psychiatric hospitals, and doing homeless outreach.

I’ve sat with people in their darkest moments — parents struggling to get clean so they can reunite with their kids, veterans haunted by trauma, teenagers who’ve given up hope, men behind bars trying to find purpose again. I’ve seen how broken systems and political inaction keep people trapped in suffering — and how simple, compassionate support can change a life.

Those experiences shaped me. They made me a better listener, a stronger advocate, and someone who believes deeply that public service is about people. They’re why I’m running for office.

Because I’ve seen what happens when policy fails — and I know how powerful it can be when government actually works for the people it serves.

Here in LD25, we share a lot of the same values I grew up with: hard work, fairness, and community. We believe in looking out for our neighbors, being good stewards of the land, and making sure everyone has a fair shot to thrive.

Our district stretches across communities that are growing quickly — places where families are working hard, where water is scarce, and where the choices we make today will shape what kind of Arizona we leave behind.

People in this district aren’t asking for perfection — they’re asking for leadership that listens, that puts people over party, and that acts with integrity. That’s what I want to bring to the State Senate.

Right now, our state faces some of the most pressing challenges of our time — water security, women’s rights, and climate resilience.

We all know Arizona’s water future is at a tipping point. Farmers, families, and entire communities depend on decisions being made right now about how we protect and share our most precious resource. This isn’t just about policy — it’s about survival.

At the same time, women’s rights are under attack in ways we haven’t seen in decades. Every woman deserves the right to make her own healthcare decisions — free from government interference.

And as our state grows, we can’t ignore the effects of climate change — hotter summers, shrinking reservoirs, and air that too often feels heavy with dust and smoke. But we can build a stronger, cleaner Arizona — one that invests in renewable energy, protects our environment, and creates good-paying jobs along the way.

What’s at stake isn’t just policy — it’s the kind of Arizona we want to live in. One where compassion, common sense, and collaboration win out over fear and division.

That’s why I’m running as a Clean Elections candidate — because I believe campaigns should be powered by people, not by corporations or lobbyists.

But that also means I need your help:

First, please sign my nomination petition so I can qualify for the ballot and bring this message to voters across LD25.

Second, make a $5 Clean Elections contribution — it helps us qualify for public funding and shows the state that our campaign is powered by real people.

And third, if you’re able, please make an early “seed money” contribution of up to $220. Support like yours matters so much.

Every signature, every $5, and every contribution helps build a movement rooted in integrity, compassion, and action.

I grew up watching how a small group of dedicated people could protect entire ecosystems. That same lesson applies to communities — when people come together around shared values, we can protect what matters most.

I want to bring that spirit to the Arizona Senate — a spirit of service, fairness, and courage. Because I believe leadership starts with listening. It grows through understanding. And it succeeds when it serves everyone.

I’m Laura Huber, and I’m running for Arizona State Senate, LD25 to bring compassion and common sense back into our politics.

Thank you for being here, thank you for caring about this community, and thank you for helping us build a future we can all be proud of.
